You are throwing away a lot of perfectly good apples. Maybe this makes sense for commercial growers because the apples need to be perfect, but for home growers it makes no sense
Hello i have a very old apple tree in the front yard of the house i rent. In the last two years is caught a fungal infection in the spring when it’s been raining. This year it is suffering very badly and has loss most of its leaves and only had a handful of apples. Is there any Books or something that can be done to help this tree please?

Those apples u picked thinning can be used to make pectin for jams & jellies.
Would this apply to other fruit trees like plum, peach and pear as well?

Can you apply that to pear trees?
I had a dear eat all the flower buds and tips off of my apple trees. I have seen very little growth this year. will they recover? My trees were less than 5 foot tall at the time.
Squirrels did the work for me this year. I have three healthy apple trees and zero apples. The beautiful apples were stripped when they reached ping pong size. Ugh.
This is such great info! Our apple trees are definitely only producing every other year & now I know why! My 80+ old farmer cousin told me that when pruning apple trees, you want to have enough room between branches to throw your hat through. I love the wisdom of the old farmers. 💗
