Old Town is a natural starting point if you’re looking to combine a dog walk with a drink.
The Runner, on Wootton Bassett Road, is known locally as a dog friendly choice, welcoming dogs in both the bar and the beer garden and keeping water bowls handy for thirsty pups.
Devizes Road has several superb spots to stop off at, including The Hop Inn, which has a loyal following for its rotating line up of craft and cask ales, and it’s also happy to see well-behaved dogs on leads both inside and in the outdoor seating area.
The Royal Oak, also on Devizes Road, typically welcomes dogs in the bar area, giving you the option to perch inside or spill out to any available outside seating on sunny days.
Smaller venues such as The Tuppenny and The Little Hop are also frequently mentioned by locals as dog friendly options, offering a relaxed drink with a more intimate outdoor feel.

Up in Taw Hill, The Tawny Owl is a large family style pub restaurant with a generous beer garden that fills up quickly when the weather turns warm.
Dogs are welcomed in the bar and garden areas, which suits anyone combining a stroll around the nearby paths and play areas with a relaxed meal or round of drinks.
