   My hostess get slugs at some point every summer. I tried the beer, but didn't help.I read where the pellets are very harmful to pets and wildlife. Do any of the natural sprays for slugs work?

    I went to Home Depot, Meijers and my Walnut Ridge today and came home with a car load. More fun than Disney World! Hard work, but so worth it!

    Hi Steph! My amethyst in snow came back with a vengeance! I bought it from the Lowe’s clearance rack last year. It didn’t even have a tag, I had no idea what this weird little plant was. I had intended to pull it out last fall because I thought it was an annual, but I never did and now it is this lush gorgeous thing. Spokane Valley, zone 6B/7A.. #Hyped

    Support your local nursery instead of the people who destroyed independent nurseries. Actual nurseries have trained people in horticulture who grow and install plants The garden centers at Home Depot have at most 2 people. A kind senior at check out and a tattooed dude on work release taking endless smoking breaks.
    There isn’t a single person in Home Depot who can answer a horticultural question and the plant material is usually cared for and stocked by an outside contractor. Pathetic

    Can’t do Huchera in zone 5 anymore. PW need to adjust their zones on this plant. I have yet to have one survive. Never again.

    My Roseann Geranium is 3 ft. high, and 5 feet wide. It dies bloom all summer, will not take full sun in my hot 6b garden.

    The plants are always in such poor shape at my local Home Depot ( Vermont) went in Saturday evening just looking at some evergreen options and some annuals for window boxes and was so very disappointed. We had a light frost (32) the evening prior and a fair amount of the outside plants took a beating from it.

    Hi Steph, the plant selection you have at both Home Depot & Lowe’s is so much better the what my local stores carry! After watching this video, I thought I’d try again to find some of the same things you had, but again with no luck! In particular, I would love to find Caradonna salvia, cransbill geranium & serendipity alliums…maybe some day I will but probably not at HD or Lowe’s

    Hi Steph, I have a section of my yard covered with the heavy duty landscape fabric like you do. What do you use to keep it tacked down? I've been using stainless steal staples but am not having success keeping the wind from lifting it up. Maybe I'm not using enough of them?

    Last summer at Tractor Supply I scored a couple Amethyst in the Snow that had seen better days for $1 apiece and nursed them back to health. They returned beautifully and have had been in bloom for a little more than a week now. What a gorgeous plant!

    I use pine cones under the leaves around hostas to keep the slugs away.
