I had begonias like this last year and tried to propagate but it failed, so I’m looking for any tips or instructions on how to do it right this time! I can’t figure out the nodes and where to cut and how best to plant them, whether in water or soil. With this one, I added maybe a handful of compost to the top and mixed it into the top soil, not a lot just to give it a little boost. I’m in love with these flowers, I want to figure out how to keep them year round. So any tips for that as well is welcome!

Nodes look like knuckles on the stem. It’s what leaves and/or branching stems grow from. It’s also where roots can grow. In my experience, you want 5ish nodes on a cutting. Remove the leaves from the bottom two or three nodes, and then stick it in water. Make sure it gets bright INDIRECT light, and change the water before it gets stinky. You should see roots after a bit
