Fluff it a lil bit to release some of those bound roots and plant away

It’s fine! I’d pull apart some of the roots on the bottom and plop it into the ground.

I often just tear off a bit of the bottom to stimulate new growth….it’s about to be UNrootbound!

non-issue. grats on a big head start, that is a chongus of a transplant.

It’s fine, prune off the bottom leaves and bury it deep. It will root all along the stem.

Mine looked just like this when I put them in. They didn’t even notice they got transplanted.

Tomatoes are very funny, they do better when their roots are messed with some and they get buried practically up to their necks. I watched a video on one of the big gardening YouTube channels a few months ago where they tried to see how much they could mess with a tomato start before it wouldn’t grow and it turns out the ones they treated the worst grew as well as or better than the babied ones. Squish that root ball up a bit to loosen it and you’re good to go!

It’s good, I mean fluff it up and put it in. If I have learned one solid truth in gardening it’s that most plants are pretty forgiving.

I just read some of the other comments and I love that “fluff” or “fluff it out” is a technical term we all use lol.

It’ll take around 2 weeks to start growing after you bust that up but it’s ok
