We’re building a farm very differently than my great grandparents did.
In this video, we reflect on the struggles they faced, the challenges we’re facing today, and the small wins that keep us moving forward as we build Laurel Ridge Farms from scratch in Florida.
From sandy soil and crop experiments to hydroponics, tractors, compost, and trying to grow food in difficult conditions, this journey has already taught us a lot. Some things are working. Some definitely are not. But every season brings new lessons and new plans for the future.
We also share some of the deeper reasons behind why we started this farm journey in the first place — family legacy, self-sufficiency, healthier food, and building a different kind of life.
