The link shows three different trees.

Two of them are airlayers i bought locally from a person. The third is a different plant still in its original nursery pot I bought a few months ago.

I show one healthy air layer from the mother plant. The mother plant had the same symptoms as the unhealthy air layer I show in a view from different angles. I may have lost the mother plant and I don’t think I can recover it from whatever mistakes the original owner made nurturing it.

The unrelated plant is a deshojo cultivar and as near as I can tell it’s leaf scorch. I did wire it when I got it and it was leafless, when it woke up it became very vigorous. I’ve done nothing more than that initial wiring which apparently didn’t bother the plant. A month later it’s unhappy.

So in summary the mother plant may not bounce back, one air layer looks great, the other looks like the mother when it began to degrade fast.

    Help.

what’s going on with those maples? could be root issues or maybe too much direct sun. check the drainage and try giving them some shade for a bit.
