JM Air Layering

Hey all,

Looking for some advice

I posted about my JM a couple months ago and the suggestion that was given was to air layer the trunk to separate it from the graft.

Unfortunately the leaves dried out when I left it in full sun for a couple of days. The tree is otherwise healthy. My question is, should I wait until a new flush of growth/leaves to air layer it or is it safe to do it now?

I just want to make sure to give it the best chance at success.
