This is my Mother’s Day present. It’s an IBC tank that we’re turning into a raised pond! Question for you guys— since it’s a raised pond, what would you do to help critters get in and out? Tree branches? Cute mini ladders? Stacked rocks? All of the above?

The next step is to install a decorative exterior surface. I’m debating between salvaged wood or some kind of brick, tile, or stone wall. Cannot wait to plant some lovely native aquatic plants; I’ll be sure to post pics. I did include some of my native plants from a different part of the yard to pay the flower tax. Golden Alexander, Robin plantain, and Mayapple all about to bloom.

The ideal IMO would be a ramp from a good chunk of log that’s been cut or scraped flatish. Roughed up a bit with cut hash marks so it has grip when wet.

From the outside I’d make like a rock wall that is a bit sloped on at least one side.

Yes, stacked rocks, you can start with block like you’re doing with the pump. I see at least one toddler, too.
