If you as a landscaper had this garden. How would you improve it or change it?
A couple on their 40s with a crazy high energy dog, loves out door entertainment, having bees visit the garden but hates maintenance of the garden.
We are no way green fingered. We’re more sit in the garden with a margarita and a bbq vibe than maintaining plants.

Add so many trees and flowers. (And rip out the swing set if your kids are done with it).
I would do crushed granite instead of grass and put in a border with some shrubs and easy to maintain ornamental grasses. Big pots with perennials, annuals and tropicals everywhere, containers are way more forgiving than a garden bed. A pergola or similar structure over the dining area or outdoor living room depending on which one would benefit the most from the shade
