I received these Miniature Dendrobium KINGIANUM species FRAGRANT today. I was pretty shocked at how tiny the roots are. Directions say to pot in moss and keep moist. The roots are so tiny… Do I put them in separate pots and how can I keep them moist? Spray daily? What kind of moss? Do I soak moss first? Thank you for any advice. I have never had seedlings before.

  1. sphagnum moss, you can just use moss as the potting medium, water it, and wait until the moss is drying out to water again

premium sphagnum moss. I would put them in a small pot no bigger than 4 inch pot (I would use one pot) that has bottom drainage. Fill halfway with moist not wet sphagnum moss and you can place the ones with roots into the moss but only the roots and let the plant lean on the pot tilted the one with the root peeking out just set it on top of moss leaning on pot for support. The take a ziplock baggy and tent over the pot this will make a mini greenhouse and help keep moisture in and keep a check on the moss and do not let it dry out completely. I try to remember to pull the baggy off for 1-2 hours a day for ventilation and I do not fully seal it either. Keep in bright indirect light. For pots types I use terracotta but many here like only like plastic. I think the clay adds to the culture, at least in my environment, hot and humid, even in my home it is never under 50% humidity and why I never completely seal the baggies when I do this method. Good luck with the baby plants
