Bought a stick edger attachment. It was quite overgrown on my sidewalk. Will the grass fill in now that it’s been trimmed back or do I need to level the edge of the grass closer to the sidewalk height? In central NJ if that helps.

    Depends on what look you want. Square or more beveled.
    It’s best practice to edge every week when mowing to keep it from filling back in over the side walk.
    I like a square look myself, so I just run my trimmer upside down along the edge of the concrete every week before I mow.

    Keep it square at a 90° to the curb. Looks so much better than the beveled edge. Beveled it grows it wonky compared to the rest. Having a bit of height above the concrete looks so nice imo. This topic is purely subjective but I think square edging looks the cleanest and is most rewarding.
