I know "native" is in right now in the USA and there is greedy money to be made with this pack. But not a year ago "pollinator' or "prairie" seed mixes had plants from other continents. Looking at you, Earth Science. I would consider this as progress, though it's obviously still too large of a range to call native for individual regions.

I think there is only one plant here that isn't native to my region which is Dense Blazing Star, though it's ALMOST native too. How close to native is this seed pack for you, USA people?

EDIT: This is at Walmart, so it's able to reach a pretty large audience. Pretty cool.

Seems better than most store bought mixes!

But common milkweed is actually bad for my area, so this mix wouldn’t be perfect for me. However, seeing as it needs cold stratification, it probably would germinate anyway lol

Edit – just realized its individual packets, so thats better. You can pick and choose (and cold stratified, as needed).

this is actually shockingly native for something at Walmart. everyone in the ~~Southeast and~~ Great Plains should be throwing this shit around

edit: okay actually ONLY the people in the bright green part of this Maximillian sunflower range map should plant this because Maxmilly’s ability to conquer is the stuff of legends and u better be damn sure it’s supposed to be there cuz it’s not leaving

That’s pretty neat! Pretty dang close to all of those are native in my zone as well (I think, just off the top of my head.)

I actually like that they are individually packaged too. Looks like it’s about $37?

My broke self is probably going to wait to see if I can get it on clearance.

I’d be cautious of the Yarrow. The most common one sold is actually exotic.

I looked at this at Home Depot. Living in South Florida, there is a 0% chance of them getting this right.
