Bought lilac wisteria 3 years ago. Last year it put out a single flower bud but it got snapped off during a storm before it could bloom. So, expecting full bloom this year, I started painting the fence off-white to make it pop.

Turns out I have white wisteria 😒

    Wisteria is a cruel mistress,

  2. The white is lovely.

Don’t say bad things about it. It might strangle you in your sleep.

I have a white and a purple. The white is far more impressive when in full bloom

I bought a wisteria plant in February 2021 and sowed it shortly after in the spring.
It has since trailed up nicely on the dead tree I had earmarked for scaffolding and attempting to create an arch as an entrance to my back garden.
Here we are 5 years later and not one solitary flower.
I feel your disappointment on the colour / gender reveal but right now I don’t even have a bud to discuss.

Help me my green fingered brothers

  6. Bring it back and demand a full refund. Completely unacceptable for it to be a different colour.

Honestly the lilac one loses its color fairly fast when it sits in full sun.

I have a yellow one and 3 lilac ones. I now want a white one as it looks lovely.

*I thought it was 7 yrs to flower? I was given two but could not find spot to plant second one so it staying in pot an extra year. It was the more vigourous purple variety but did very poorly. I made mistake of not teasing out rootsystem when removing from pot…. it has strong tap root that needed pulling out.* I prune back to three buds.
