My begonia maculata has been growing this leaf for WEEKS now it feels like. when it first was coming in, the thingy it was growing in looked bulbous so i thought it was going to be a huge leaf. but its been small and scrunched up for what feels like forever. i look the other day, and it looks like a new leaf is coming in! is this original leaf just a dud? why is it taking so long? this begonia literally gets so much light it gets a few hours of direct sunlight and bright indirect sunlight the rest of the day. im very confused

i posted awhile ago about this!! i had the same question. however its just a new leaf! they just look weird when they come out 🙂
i think the leaf goes thru a couple stages, i’ve noticed. like it looks like one is coming out but it’s actually just the “bud” then that part comes off and the actual leaf is under it if that makes sense
Sometimes I have dud leaves. Then I do, that leaf does off, but a new one grows in the exact same spot. This doesn’t look like a dud though, it looks like your plant paused progress on the leaf, maybe to grow more roots or something.
