Heather the Hen. She was a beast – RiP.
Was the only chicken allowed in the house, loved to cuddle and bossed the rooster around. Lost in an insane blizzard for several days, in woods with coyotes, foxes and Bobcats. Came back to me when the storm passed. Loved to lead the other hens to the top of her favorite pine tree. Love you Heather!

Cant link her pic but her name is Yoko and sheβs a Yokohama (most of mine are a mix of rare or threatened breeds). She is a hoot. Chatty as all get out, easy to handle, also a loner, and she rides my goats every day across our land rather than walking. I had a La FlΓ¨che named Nyx and she was a close second. She would dive bomb me for my lap.

Huggy. She loved being picked up. Went on vacation for two weeks and paid the neighbors to put them up. Had 16 chickens when I left, she was the only one still alive when I returned. Gave her to a friend because she had lost her flock. Sheβs thriving and still loves being picked up.
