This is my first jade plant that I got yesterday. Plant was in full sun outside with full drainage and soil was dry, so assume normal watering.

I rinsed the leaves off and repotted it since it was root bound. Any ideas what this is?

Thank you for posting to r/plantclinic!

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.

Your jade plant got into an altercation with a cactus. Bunny ears cactus, from the looks of it.

I could be wrong, but from how fine they are and where they are on the leaves, I’m guessing your jade plant was stored next to a cacti with those little hair like needles (glochids). Sometime during shipping and being stocked it bumped into its neighbor and had some the spines stick into it.
