Held at the Springfield Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Greene Park, attendees were able to enjoy live local music. Sunday’s performance featured violinist Kirsten Weiss.
A Mother’s Day-themed craft event for kids was also offered. Beer, wine and soft drinks were available for purchase.
Volunteer Linda Chorice explained the overall goal of the event for guests to the park.
“The goal is just to get people here and to see this beautiful place and appreciate the park in a different way,” Chorice said. “And the people that are here are often also going into the botanical center. They’re picnicking, they’re walking through the gardens. They’re enjoying nature, and nature and music go together beautifully.”
The event will continue next weekend with a finale on May 31.
