Storms last night took down a very large branch of our beloved mulberry tree, and I thought I would make some cuttings. But before I do that, can anyone please confirm if we have Red Mulberry (morus rubra) or White Mulberry (morus alba)? White mulberry is invasive in our area (Missouri) and I don't want to spread the problem. Thank you!

Are the underside of the leaves hairy?

The abundance of short and clustered fruit indicate it’s white mulberry, hybrid, or another non-native species. True red mulberry has much longer and much sparser fruit.

    Morus alba

That branch could make some cool small slabs.
