Hey y’all this is my first string of bananas (?) I have owned this plant for almost a year now and it has probably grown almost 2 feet in that year… I have to water it once per week now as the soil gets SO DRY and the bananas start to shrivel. Is it time to repot this plant? If so please share any tips. This is one of my favorite plants and I want to keep it as healthy & happy as possible! Also any care tips would be greatly appreciated as well!!! Thank you!💚

You have a beautiful plant!
String of bananas prefer to be slightly root bound, so check the bottom of the pot to see if there are any roots coming out. If there are- repot! If not, you’re ok
If the soil is becoming hydrophobic (meaning it’s not retaining water as easily, or it doesn’t take so much water to pass through the pot), I’d recommend a repot. Go with a cactus/succulent growing mix!
While you do that, I’d recommend cutting off the trimmings on the bottom (that lay on the edge) and propagate a new string of bananas plant! Or you could lay those cut strings on barer dirt in the pot, and get a thicker, fuller plant!
That string of bananas is HUGE! 😱 Maybe just check if the roots are packed up first? Good luck! 🌱
