When I first began getting plants in 2023, I let one of my beautiful ferns wither away due to depression and other mental health. I felt so bad, and always hoped I could get more and care for them.

Now some days I get up to make sure they have water, to open the blinds for them. I know it sounds a little silly.

My favourites are ferns, if it wasn’t obvious! My asparagus fern I’ve had the longest, for around a year. My other additions I got as I felt more confident.

Thanks for reading and look at my plants!

This is exactly why my bedroom window is slowly turning into a jungle. It really helps, taking care of all of them right before bed, and some beautiful greenery that I’m proud of being the first thing I see in the morning.

When I was heavily depressed I told my brother I stopped taking care of myself, he told me to tend to myself like I do my plants. My plants and I are thriving to this day. You got this!

The same with me. I get out of bed just to open the blinds for my babies and then I wind up doing plant chores all morning. It’s the best part of the day ❤️

  5. It did for me too until one phase got me real good and out of about 75 plants maybe 5 made it through. It was like dealing with a friend that passed away once I came out of that time period. So now I’m just into cacti and succulents, being in SoCal they like it outside which lets me go longer periods without killing things if that’s what needs to happen.

Me too lately … I was slipping back for a few days but you have to literally pick yourself up because you can’t bare to lose what you’ve nurtured and worked so hard to keep… hope your days are brighter ❤️

Ive felt the same way. Ive got abusive family members, and after years and years of telling me im not good enough, or that i ruin lives, it gets hard. But when I see how much my plants and animals are thriving and when I smile and tell them how wonderful they are every day, it makes things hurt a lot less, knowing im at least doing something right and making someone or something happy 💜

I resonate with this! I rekindled my love for gardening a few months ago and it’s been such a huge source of joy and will to live
