Sorry it’s been neglected. Bought this for my apartment just over 10 years ago. It’s survived 3 moves, one pot transfer (looks like it needs another), and it ate its sibling. There were two stalks at one point. I left it at my mom’s and this is basically a checkup. I have never seen it flower before so was very curious as to what was going on?

    Corn Plant, Dracaena fragrans.

They only flower when mature and then only every 5-15+ years.

Many years ago I had a corn plant. Was beautiful and healthy, flowered, loved it. It grew too tall for my house so I gave it to my SIL who had an open entry way two stories tall. It got too big for her to handle so she gave it to a church. After that I lost track.

Does it smell really fragrant? Like cologne?

No idea, but tell your doggie I say “hi”.

I’ve never seen a blooming corn plant. I’m so glad you posted this image and asked!

The smelliest flower that will fill a whole room. Corn plant. My mother had one for almost 20 years when it finally bloomed and it was almost 6ft tall.
