They produce so much wonderful food for people and animals and grow very fast. In a food forest they are super stars. The leaves are great animal fodder and are even human edible. A mulberry tree and a mulberry bush are the same thing. The mulberry bush is just a mulberry tree that has been kept small and not allowed to grow tall.

Enjoy some mulberries when you get the chance and I hope this helps you identify them.

  1. My grandparents had a mulberry tree close to their country home. I loved the mulberry jelly my Granny used to make. I've looked for jars of it for sale, but can never find it! I would love to taste it again. Thanks for your video. 👋🏼

  2. Theirs actually a lot of mulberry trees here in NYC by me. I never ate em till my friend told me to try em.

  3. I love mulberries. When my children were tiny babies the Victorian apartment building we lived in head mulberry trees lining the entire fence line and I would go out there and pick mulberries

  4. pull those berries off so they will root! otherwise it will focus on growing the berries and not making roots!
I might need some cuttings next spring! (and I am sure you know that but talking to the kids in the back)

  5. Passing by a neighbor's home I never realized he had a Mulberry tree in his yard, so I'm guessing this is the first year it has produced, and so many on the sidewalk, at least the birds will have a great feast there. 😀

  6. I love my cultivars, always want more, just not enough space here to catch them all. Easiest fruit tree to grow, my Illinois ever-bearing dwarf will even fruit before the cuttings are strongly rooted. I have just shoved some in my raised bed as an experiment and that was wild to see.

  7. I have read the leaves are not good to eat that they can cause severe stomach issues as well as other even worse issues but the berries are wonderful
