I know they are invasive and not good to be planted in the ground so I keep mine in the pot (third year now) and so far it’s happy in there 🪴.

  2. You are aware that it’s only ***Rhododendron ponticum*** that’s invasive?

    I really don’t get this anti Rhododendron thing on here, there’s people on this sub who won’t get a Rhododendron as they are described in the same breath as Japanese Knotweed (a favourite subject today in here 😆) I really don’t get it.

    Most or all sold in garden centres are perfectly safe, growing to 1.5m and non invasive.

    No idea what variant yours is, it could actually be ponticum as it’s purple, but you are allowed to plant it in the ground within your own garden, it’s just not allowed outside of there.

    Looks perfectly healthy where you have it however.
