  2. Good Morning Kaye – Thanks for the info on Chickweed and its many uses. Don't currently have any growing but hope that will change soon. I don't care for vodka but vegetable glycerin and ACV is a recommended substitute. Have you ever used something other than vodka for making certain tinctures? You probably have a video on it in your library but I missed it. Hope you have a wonderful weekend…

  4. Good morning Kaye! I have tons of this growing on our farm and we are regenerative so no worries as far as us contaminating the soil! I feed it to my chickens. We are so blessed. We have so many beneficial and medicinal blessings growing on our farm. I have Henbit, sadly, no purple dead nettle. I can feed my chickens very well from this farm. The drawback, this season is the amount of venomous snakes. Our farm is located in a historic area. The neighbors got their farm in the Oklahoma land run of 1889 so this land has been preserved. My husband bought this farm in 1983. Itโ€™s like God preserved it for us! My friend just saved me some tincture bottles so I can for sure make some chickweed tincture. We must take care of ourselves the right way! My best friend got that book so I can contact her and get help. As usual Kaye such a beautiful video so refreshing! Have a very amazing weekend! 5. Chickweed salve is good to reduce itching too. For tincture making, put your mason jar in a brown paper bag to keep it from the light. For rinsing, grapefruit seed extract is easier than vinegar since it is so concentrated, you only need a few drops in a small bowl of filtered water and wash/rinse of your produce and or weeds, fruit and veg from the garden. Regarding pesto, I just make it with the nuts, herbs, greens, seasonings and oil and freeze in small ramekins. Leave out the cheese until you defrost and are ready to consume the pesto. Mix in the parmesan just before you want to eat it. I never bother anymore with the cheese. I sometimes add a spoonful of Miso paste for more umami flavor instead.
