I’m a complete newbie and bought a royalty raspberry plant from Menards. Any advice for soil composition so my new friend can thrive? Also, can someone explain the roots wrapping around the cane and how I handle this when potting?
Untangle the roots and put them in the ground. Water once daily for a few days. It should grow well. This is a bare root cane.

I took mine like this and poke some holes in the plastic, stick them in a 5 gallon with water and let them sit for a day and start rehydrating while I prepare their spot. Then I just plant them, and water them in well.

We love royalty raspberries. It’s our favorite purple of the 12 variety of raspberries we grow.
Just spread out those roots and plant them in the ground.
Raspberries don’t like standing water so plant in well drained soil or a bot at the bottom of a hill.
Thet are pretty aggressive growers. Mine grew 7 feet tall in a year and completely filled out their space in 2 years.
Lots of thorns and birds love them. You can pick them red for a raspberry taste or purple for a more sweet berry.
It was by far our biggest producer of any raspberry we grow.
