This was in my office in a pot with another plant (background of photo 3) and was seriously sagging so I was messing with it/attempting to straighten it to put a support pole in and it snapped. I know I can propagate this- but what exactly should I do? Do I cut these roots first or just toss it right in water?

Root rot. Looks like it’s pretty bad. I would cut above tho r root rot where the nodes are and just propagate it in water and hopefully roots will grow
You should also chop between each of the nodes so you get 4 cuttings out of it! Stick em all in a large vase for water prop
