B&M is continuing to expand its flourishing garden range with a “perfect” statue it claims will “transform your garden”. The retailer, which boasts over 700 stores across the country, is now selling the Standing Buddha with Solar Light for just £14.
Designed to create a serene atmosphere in gardens and on patios, the ornament bears a striking resemblance to far pricier alternatives currently available at competing retailers.
According to the product description on the B&M website: “Transform your garden into a tranquil, relaxing space. This Standing Buddha Statue with Solar Light is the perfect way to bring peace and serenity to your outdoor space, while illuminating your garden with soft solar light.”
The figurine depicts a stone-effect Buddha cradling a solar-powered light against his chest. It’s also reasonably compact, standing 50cm tall and 15cm wide, making it easy to position in smaller outdoor areas as well as larger, more spacious gardens.

In contrast, B&Q is offering a similar ornament at a substantially higher price. Its Lotus Buddha Statue is priced at £34.99 – over £20 more costly than the B&M version.
While the B&Q statue features a similar stone-coloured finish and compact dimensions, it differs in design, displaying a Buddha figure holding two LED solar-powered flames.
A spokesperson for B&Q said: “Add a serene touch to your home or garden with this Lotus Buddha Statue. Solar powered with LED lighting, it illuminates your yard, patio, or yoga space while enhancing the peaceful ambiance. Durable and weather-resistant, it’s ideal for indoor or outdoor décor.”
