With the UK finally being treated to some warmer and sunnier weather, households across the country are making sure their gardens are ready to catch some rays in. And one piece of garden furniture at Dunelm has been praised as a “very chic and comfortable” choice for enjoying the sunshine.
The homeware retailer promises that its Riviera Chair will bring “a touch of effortless elegance” to the garden with its stylish look, sporting a rattan design that comes in two summery colours, Jade and White and Blue and White. Finished off with an eye-catching patterned seat, it will bring a vibrant Mediterranean feel to lawns, patios, decks and balconies.
Priced at £49 each, these stackable chairs will suit all sizes of outdoor space, while the powder-coated steel frame is “built to withstand the elements” – ideal for the unpredictable British weather. Shoppers should note, however, that the chair is only available to click and collect from Dunelm stores, provided it’s in stock.
At the time of writing, North East branches offering click and collect for both colour options of the chair are Cramlington, North Shields, and Hylton Sunderland, with home delivery not currently an option. The chair comes fully assembled, so shoppers will have to factor in whether they can fit it in their car.
For more budget-friendly garden seating elsewhere on the high street, one of the top-rated choices at Argos are the Sicily Set of 2 Stacking Garden Chairs, which are priced at £50 for a pair. Coming recommended by 97% of shoppers who have bought them, these chairs have a grey steel frame “built to last through seasons of outdoor use”.

Back at Dunelm, the Riviera Chair has racked up an average rating of 4.8 out five stars from impressed shoppers. One described it as “one of the comfiest outdoor chairs I’ve ever sat in”, while another said it was “perfect for enjoying the long summer evenings”.
A five-star review read: “I ordered two of these for our patio – I really love them! They’re a beautiful colour and are so comfortable! They have also put up with a lot of rain so far and it hasn’t affected them at all – I would definitely recommend.”
A second shopper praised: “Very wide and comfortable – can sit in them for hours.”
A third person fed back: “Nice and light to stack. Look pretty in the garden. I call them my ‘snuggly’ chairs. Can even bring my feet up into them. So relaxing.”
And someone else wrote: “I bought three of these chairs and I’m delighted with them. They are so comfortable to sit in and look great on my terrace. Very reasonably priced too.”
However, one shopper was disappointed with the quality of their chair. They complained: “Sadly need to return – only sat on it twice and some of the plastic has come loose. Lovely chairs but not very well made.”
While a different reviewer echoed: “Plastic rattan began unravelling on one chair which required my repairing it after one use.”
