    Oh wow. I have one in my garden with the same height and spread, also pruned into a standard. It’s absolutely humming with bees and other pollinators. I never imagined it would reach this size when I first planted it a decade ago.

    I have a clematis Aoteroa planted nearby that scrambles up through the canopy and blooms in summer after the blue of the ceanothus has gone.
