Bought this little cutie at target yesterday! They had like 30 Thai Monsteras and this one was the best asthetically to me.

I'm gonna repot and get her in an appropriate media mix.

My question is; should I keep her in the same pot/size or do you think she's ready for a bigger size? How many inches bigger should I go?

She did have one root growing out the bottom with a little root rot but the other roots looked healthy and strong.

Yeah, go ahead and size up if you’re already going to be repotting it. Honestly potting up to a bigger size is only a problem when the size difference is egregious. Like if you septupled the volume of vessel vs just doubling it.

If that’s a 6 inch pot you can definitely safely go to 8. I’d probably go to 10inch if it was rootbound. If you’re throwing it into chunky aroid mix it will be fine as long as you’re not watering all the time.

just an inch or two bigger to the root ball and that’s it.

I don’t know much. But what I’ve read and done myself is what is working. People say if the roots are small enough to stay, then leave her in that size. Just check and clean your root so you don’t end up with a broken ❤️. I didn’t check and lost 1 of my mini monsters.
