I’m scared the moss won’t grow and overtake the empty patches. Let me know if I did anything wrong. I’m using Leca, followed by a drainage mesh, activated charcoal, and finally peatmoss

Looks fine from here. How long since you made it?

  2. Don’t be scared 😆.

First off, it looks beautiful. And the worst that could happen is that your pants/moss die off, but if that happens, you just start again. The other things that might happen is mold might start growing. If that happens, the adding if some springtails world help. They are detrivours, and will eat any mold or decaying matter. They’re your cleanup crew.

The only trick is to keep the environment right for the most to grow. Luckily, that just means keeping the moisture level/humidity up, and giving it enough light. Moss requires surprisingly more light than you might expect. If it doesn’t get enough light it gets etoliated, and grows long and stringy instead of soft pillowy mounts like you have now. You don’t want to put the terrarium in direct sunlight, but a bright window or grow light should do you good.

    I hope this helps! 😊

  3. I think the other two comments pretty much answered your question. But do wipe off the glass on the backside – unless you made it that way on purpose. In which case it looks beautiful ;D

terrariums look better with time, wait for things to grow in, if some plants you end up don’t liking you can always remove
