My friend had given me a cutting of this begonia malculata and for like a year, she has been doing great. The last picture is what she looked like a couple of weeks ago. She’s wrapping up a bloom in the last week or so, and out of no where her leaves just start falling off?! She’s completely bald now, although it looks like she has maybe 3 buds so I’m hoping for the best. Why would she have dropped all of her leaves? I noticed the leaves developed this weird pattern, is this indicative of anything?

How are you currently keeping the plant? Lighting? Watering? Nutrients? Soil? I know that’s a lot to throw at you. It helps me to better understand how best to advise you. Out of curiosity, is there any drainage in that pot or is it a cover pot?
