I’ve seen mold in my compost piles before but this is the first time my family has used a formal bin.
Should this be removed or incorporated? I believe the food scraps that get caught on the little stage in the middle has been exposed to so much water and heat that the mold just took off

don’t touch it. let it colonize further before mixing. mycelium is the network of the soil. transports goodies throughout the web. let it colonize as much as you can then mix it turn it. that broken mycelium will again colonize merge and spread.
