Would be interested in what the profit is, not the revenue.
I would love to learn sunflower. what all the in and out of the business.. Thanks
Thank you so much for including your prices. We don't live too far from you, and I am always second-guessing myself on pricing. However, I don't know that you could get $2 a cucumber for those tiny ones! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Katrina cukes!! They are the best, but they are small, and one of those that you had in your hand was really small. Also, how much basil is in a "bunch?" That did not tell us much! Your garden looks beautiful! So glad you posted this!!
Question 🙋🏻♀️. Do you plant on the berm or in trench, or?
I got thrown off when you said you planted your basil 8 ft apart. 😂
I missed the name of the cucumber seeds that you said were prolific???
Another way to make serious $$ especially for those who have NO BACKYARDS is growing sweet potato slips. Did you know that Garden centers are making a killing selling 12 slips for $25 plus Shipping! Yikes! You can earn serious $$$ selling to friends, neighbors & farmers markets for a much lower realistic price and that is your advantage. I started years ago and it has turned into a thriving business selling the top 3 in demand varieties. The most delicious is the yellow/Orange Beni Haruka and 2 purple varieties of Beni imo sweet potatoes. I sell 25 slips for $5. A fair and reasonable price.
I grow the vines in hanging baskets and also grow the nodes in seedling trays, I sell these sprouted trays of nodes with the tray. This is the most profitable way to sell sweet potato slips as each vine can produce numerous nodes. Another easy money maker is growing fresh mung bean sprouts. Everyone you know is a potential customer. Don't be greedy, sell for half price of grocery stores. Both of these items can be grown in less than 50 sq. Ft. In fact you can grow these vertically in a minimum foot print. No fancy equipment or large investment is required. Very Easy and very profitable!
I love the idea of selling to cover my own costs for gardening and growing 😂❤❤❤❤ I’m working hard this year to get a few things on point and plan to attempt to sell some produce and flowers to cover the expansion
Jill, could you post a pic of your garden set up on paper? Your garden looks great!
This may be one of the most informative backyard garden business videos I've ever seen
So on the sunflower are you transplanting and repotting them? Selling the seeds, or clipping them and selling the heads and stems?
I remember you did a zinnia video about when to pick them but I would like to see one for sunflowers
❤
This was great video ❤
What variety of sunflower are you planting?
Are you actually making this kind of money doing it? Or is this just calculated possibilities. It will be very difficult to find that many people to sell product to.
Any way you can post your set up step nay step on your sunflowers all the way to Markey wholesale cutting growth of plants on when to harvest type of sunflowers that your selling would be helpful Thank you
no one would ever pay 5 dollars a pint of tomatoes. Don't get greedy, times are hard for many people.
how do you keep chickens out of your garden?
Mirinde! Ĉu vi vere povas gajni tiom multe el malgranda ĝardeno? Mi ŝatus vidi, kiel tio estas farata.
I would love to know more about market gardening
My amendments come from my chickens 😅
Would like to see video on finding buyers. The growing is one thing, but finding the people to sell to us the scary part.
Could you do a video on how you have approached your buyers?
Lavender is a hardy perennial, meaning it comes back every year without replanting. It is incredibly versatile because you can sell the fresh flowers, dried bouquets, or processed essential oils and soaps.
Outstanding video! I really enjoyed it! Last year i started growing all my basil at the feet of my tomato and pepper plants since they occupy different vertical zones and had a lot of success doing that
I am planning a suburban farm stand, I was missing the math part and had no idea that the tons of sunflowers I just threw down for my own eye candy could be sold for so much. I'm in St. Louis Zone 7 and I think I could make a decent extra income doing what I love to do:) Thank you so much 💚🌻
I really loved the way you break it down and go over the financials by space and crop. One thing that would be awesome to learn more about is what succession planting process is behind the scenes and how you change in the new plants with those already planted for continuous harvest. A lot of ppl discuss it but few show the whole process and the thinking/planning that goes into it. Feel like a lot could benefit from that video of small scale intensive ag spaces!
How does one of the poorest states like Arkansas have high end customers?
Wow, have not watched one of your videos in a while (been crazy busy here) and I Love what you guys have done on your property! Your gardens all look amazing, and your videos are all so inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
Great video! The deer decimated my sunflowers this Spring – do you keep your farm fenced?
Thanks for the tips Jill! Any recommendations for wholesale seeds?
How when do you cut your sunnies
