Nematodes are your friends. My raised planters and pots were riddled with the grubs, lots of dead strawberry plants etc. Buy the right nematodes for vine weevil, store on the fridge, and use them exactly to the specs on the packet.
A few days after I used them lots of dead grubs in the pots. I think you have to use them twice a year spring and autumn to get protection.
