It’s growing in my garden under the apple tree and there is far more than i could ever use.

*Lots of excellent suggestions. Thank you all.

Apple and mint jelly obviously. Although I think u/stu001 is right with mojitos.

Become a raging alcoholic and drink Pimm’s from daybreak to sundown every day!

You could actually use it for tea – dry it out and store it for tea, or for flavouring. Or you could try making some mint sauce if you’re partial.

If you don’t want loads of mint I’d suggest taking it right down to a small patch of what you do want, and clear it out by the roots from the other areas and cordon it off including under the soil so it doesn’t spread again. Or just re-plant it in a pot and remove it completely from the border. I quite like having big patches of mint but it really does take over.

It flowers and feeds the insects, and you can go out any time you like in the season and pick a bit or 2 for salad, mint sauce, raita or drinks.

Dry it for tea if you like that, or one of my favourites is just a plain black tea with a mint leaf in.

Let it do its happy minty thing and remove it from places you dont want it. Like any other herb, just because it is there does not mean you have to find a use for all of it.

  6. ThrowawayCult-ure

    vietnamese food also uses mint

if you want to use buckets you can extract the oil and make an essence for aromatherapy uses but thats quite an ordeal

Cut some and put bundles of it in a small bucket hangi g from the front gate with a sign saying ‘free mint’. If you love somewhere with people frequently passing. Have done it with rhubarb, sage and rosemary. It’s always all gone super fast.

If you happen to have a garbage disposal in your sink, putting a sprig down it and turning it on (after a good clean of course) makes it smell great. My uncle grew a lot of mint and did it daily.

Adding crushed or whole mint to fruit or cucumber water is also nice in the warmer months.

Send a load to me 😂 I love mint in cooking. Spuds, peas and even desserts, and never have enough to make mint sauce

So you can process it to get mint extract and sell or keep. You can smush it into vodka or you can do it with a copper extractor from schmamazon.

Severely underrated flower! They smell so nice and bees love them.

Brush past it as often as would be acceptable.

Dig it up, well some of it and divide it into clumps. Pot them up. Put them out the front and invite people to take some and leave a donation. Or do a car boot sale. Sell them all or just give them away.

Chop it and jar it for the colder months under vinegar. After that mint tea is nice on a summer evening, mojito’s or give it away. I get rid of some of mine to the local pub.

You can dry it out so it’ll keep for years.

  17. Mjukplister

Sell some ! Or post on local facebook and barter some . A bunch of mint can easily cost £2
