Delicious homemade cake and tea will be served in the village hall

Lying at the foot of the North Downs in Surrey is a beautiful village full of countryside charm.

Westcott is a picturesque spot nestled in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to Dorking, and it is wonderfully peaceful and quiet.

Sitting on a strip of similarity pretty neighbourhoods including Shere, Abinger Hammer and Wotton, the village is made up of around 1,000 houses and 2,500 residents.

There is a huge community spirit, with numerous clubs and societies holding regular activities.

Christmas Carols on the village green is a much-loved annual tradition which brings families and friends across the village together.

At St John’s Community Centre, a community garden is open to all every Saturday, while won the second Tuesday of every other month, Westcott Local History Group meet there.

At Westcott Village Hall, there is a coffee morning on the first Wednesday of every month. Westcott Bridge Club meet there every Monday evening and The Cookie Club, an informal and friendly group for parents, grandparents and carers along with their babies and pre-school children, is held every Thursday during term time.

There’s a primary school, a pub called The Prince of Wales and Westcott Sports Club is situated at Stable Meadow at the eastern end of the village.

Westcott is a lovely place to go for a walk, cycle or ride, with scenic routes including the 5.3-mile Westcott and Leith Hill Circular, the historic Greensand Way and paths to Ranmore Common.

This summer, a special event will be held to allow visitors to explore the village behind closed doors.

On June 28, the Surrey Hills village will open its garden gates and invite visitors to view around 10 private gardens.

Scrumptious homemade cake and hot tea will be served at the Village Hall in this not-for-profit event, and all proceeds will go to the Village Hall and Surrey Hills School Garden.
