I found 2 of this creature running across the topsoil of my Areca palm and it’s the first time I’m seeing them, I’ve had this plant for 5 months or so?

I’ve watered it 2 days ago and that’s when it resurfaced so I’m assuming maybe it has something to do with it?

I’ve heard that it could be beneficial for the soil which I won’t mind having them unless they escape the pot so please let me know if they do and how can I keep their population in check??

PS it’s very very tiny

It’s a centipede, they’re predators. Milipedes are beneficial for the soil because they eat dead plants. Centipedes are good if you have pests in the soil. If you don’t it will starve to death and not bother you ever again
