I never had a tractor in my life but had been in skid steers quite a bit and loved them. I didn’t want a skid steer for my property because of all the ground damage but wasn’t really comfortable with tractors. I ended up getting an Avant loader 635 and it’s changed my life. Having a piece of equipment extends what you able to do 100 times over. I hope this thing outlasts me. Don’t ever want to be without it again.
Even if you can’t afford a “real” tractor, if you can get a lawn/garden tractor with a front pto then you can still do quite a bit even with a small machine like that.
I only have an acre and live in city limits but you can bet your butt I've asked family with a tractor to come help me with a few jobs! Every time I think "I need an excuse to buy myself one of those"
Did I miss the details on the make and model of this tractor? I did not see it in the details. I’m looking for something like this currently and would like to know make/model.
Don’t forget about rear ballast when using your FEL or pallet forks. Save yourself the hassle of having to replace front end bearings or other components
It funny you say you wouldnt want to move wooden beams by hand cause thats exactly what I was doing a few days ago, im currently looking for a cheap set of forks for the bucket on my tractor. But for now I can still swing a beam over my shoulder relatively easy and Ive honestly im in better shape now than in highschool.
Compact tractor? An old full-size tractor is even better…cheaper to buy…will last forever; tougher; simpler (Less to go wrong; simpler & cheaper to fix).. When it comes to tractors, more weight is a good thing…especially with a loader. I see so many compacts festooned with a plethora of weights in the front; weights in the rear…. I thought this was going to be about the quick hitch- now THOSE things are truly great!
Testify, brother! I do all those things including brush cutting, moving soil, gravel, etc. the bucket and pallet forks are two of most useful attachments: fork and spoon.
Absolutely 100% agree. I wish I would have kept my very 1st compact tractor. It was a beast. A 29 hp New Holland. Take his advice, my advice, anyone advice. Get a compact tractor. Not a riding lawn mower. The most you’ll ever have to do by hand is roll something into the bucket so you can pick it up. A 600-700 pound rock? Finesse that rock into the bucket. Some how, some way. All you need is that rock into the bucket , pick it up an inch, and you can move that rock anywhere. Grass cutting? I have 2 Kubota compact tractors. A his & hers. My wife has a smaller version, I have a larger version. Both cut 60”. Imagine cutting 5 acres like a golf course in an hour and a half. (1.5 hrs). Like walking on a carpet. I know they cost 15-20k. But it’s the best investment you’ll ever make for your home. Never, ever wonder how you’ll do something or pick up something again. Peace to all. Save your body. Get a compact tractor.
I have 2 homesteads. One in remote West Virginia and one in Montana.. I have 2 tractors at each home.. it would be impossible to upkeep my properties without them.
Dont have rural property but the amount of work we do feels like it.
Been thinking about and looking into getting one. Mostly off of marketplace, that needs a little work but im ok with that. Been working on engines, hydraulics, and electrical since i was in elementary school 20 years ago lol.

Really good tool for maintaining property is kids
A small older tractor that doesn't have a bunch screens or computer nonsense is extremely handy.
If that lazy ass camera man would set that thing down you’d get way more done

You really need to invest in a grapple.
I pick up more stuff with my tractor so my back doesn't hurt. I did notice that orange and green they do get along. Work smarter😊

I want a rural property just so I can have that tractor
My JD110TLB was expensive but worth every penny. Within 6 months, it's already done $5000 worth of work and I am only getting started!
I tell everyone of all the big purchases I’ve ever made, my tractor is the only item I’ve never once had buyers remorse on

Skid steers the way to go for me. But this tractors are nice
I have 7 acres. I just lucked into a lightly use Kubota LX2610. Even though it wasn’t the right time, I snatched it up. No regrets.
