Excuse me can we address the elephant in the room that is that variegated pup?
That doesn’t look for sure like rust to me. There are a lot of things that could cause discoloration like that spot. Could dust it with sulphur and keep an eye on it with minimal risk.
But that vari pup has me feeling some kinda way

IMO That yellow dosnt look like variegation up close, and the black ooze coming out the tip should definitely be concerning
Maybe less water? The rust already there can be dusted w garden sulphur. Then let the soil dry rly well and wait before watering again
I could help with this if you can take a few more angles of the peen in question. Could also be helpful to see the one the pup came off of.
Nothing variegated in that photo.
If it is rust, and it could be, chances discoloration remain after treatment are pretty high. Rust tends to remain and discolor plant.

My vote is chemical burn or high humidity paired with low temps.
