So I purchased this leaf propogation from a seller on Etsy, i thought it was a full leaf cutting, but after they shipped it they sent a picture and it was just a leaf tip cutting. 😢 it was 15 bucks, so im kinda dissapointed. Im pretty good at propogating, but any tips or opinions would be very appreciated!

Ps. I do think it was a miscommunication? Idk I feel bad lol

  1. lol that’s… super scummy. even in the begonia community sellers are really starting to take too many liberties in an effort to make more profit. don’t feel bad either, a leaf cutting should be the *whole* leaf, not just a tip of one, i dont think anyone would disagree. leaves without the petiole are more likely to fail than the pieces with the petiole attached so this is super risky for $15. id be leaving them a shitty review

Nah I’d ask for a refund and if not charge back if that was me

As for what to do with it, I’d put it in damp sphagnum moss with rooting hormone in a clear covered propagation tray. You can used plastic wrap if you don’t have a lid.

And put it in more of a lower light environment- this is actually perfect for many cheap grow lights that you can find on Amazon

As an etsy seller this is unacceptable. Report it to etsy and get your money back. 9/10 times support will side with you, especially if you give a lot of context.
