Planted zenith Zoysia sod end of last April and it looked great its first year. We had cut pine trees in Georgia. The area closest to the pine trees are dead this season. Had topsoil, soil3 compost, and then sod layed. I did see grubs and had sprinkled grubex but didnt seem to be an infestation.
Possible issues I can think of:
(1) drought in Atlanta? But the other parts came up fine’sh
(2) pest infestation – applied triazicide two weeks ago—didnt really see chinch bugs but wanted to cross it off
(3) root decay taking Nitrogen away? – applied first dose of 16-4-08 about a week ago
(4) soil not as compact near the trees? —screw test went right through and ground not as level anymore — I did put a light layer of top soil on top recently (you can see some the sticks on top)
Thoughts? Any chance of recovery?
