Hello,
I’ve been looking after this for about 2 months now.
I’ve read it needs high humidity, so I’m keeping it in the bathroom.
I used to water it about twice a week (as soon as the leaves change), with tap water. I’ve recently changed it to distilled water, following advice I’ve found online.
I used to keep it right next to the window seal, however I was worried it might get too much light, so I’ve moved it slightly further away.
However, I’m not sure why the leaves are going brown 😭
Is anyone able to help me, please?
Thank you!

how far away from the window is it now? what direction does the window face? how much of the sky can you see from it?
When I used tap water for my calathea it slowly turned brown and all the leaves died off.
Since switching to filtered it’s come back to life with new leaves. I think the minerals in the tap water get “trapped” in the leaves and there’s no way for you to flush them out, so my guess would be that the leaves that browned from mineral accumulation are not going to bounce back.
Has the browning worsened since switching to distilled? If it’s stayed the same, I’d probably chalk it up to previous damage from the tap water that unfortunately won’t go away until those leaves die off.
Much closer to the window.
