How come the middle is darker? Different bug to pollinate? Asking for a friend.

Is this Ammi/Daucus/Dara or False Queen Anne’s Lace? If so, that dark spot is like a landing pad for pollinators from what I understand. It doesn’t always show up on the center of the umbels but often does. There’s old “folklore” that Queen Anne’s Lace (which all of the varieties I mentioned above) is named as such because legend says that Queen Anne pricked her finger while sowing lace and the dark dot is meant to represent the blood from her finger.

Daucus “Purple Kisses” is one of my favorite flowers to grow!

Queen Anne’s lace has a spot where her bloody head was chopped off.
