I do have some different grass mixed in from the previous owners, but have put down a lot of Fescue/Rye mix the last couple seasons. Yard is looking fantastic compared to what it once was, but I'm just wondering how to get it all the same color? The different fescues are not in the lighter green or darker green bits, just variously mixed in. Have some clumping fescue I still need to deal with this year.

Any advice from the wise ones on this sub?

Could possibly throw some iron down, I’m not in the same zone or anything but we have turf go Chlorotic here where I’m at and its usually way more of a lime green, but I’ve seen it close to yours and corrected it with some iron as well.

Probably patches where the rye is denser than the fescue. Unfortunately this tends to happen in mixed stands.

Pee on it a few times. Mark it with a flag or something. Take pics before peeing and after a week. You may see the spot where you peed turns darker green like the other dark green areas.

If this is what happens, then that means it’s hungry (for Nitrogen)

Spray some N or spread some fert in those areas and you should see them darken up in time.

The lime green could be triv. Does it grow a bit faster and grow in a “swirl”

  5. Could it be poa? Does it brown up a lot in those areas in late summer?

Your lawn is so beautiful! What did you do to clear it of the dandelions in the first place? Spray? Pull? My lawn is full of dandelions thanks to spread from our neighbors 🤡
