The Greenfingers Charity has announced plans for its RHS Malvern Spring Festival garden, Lifted by Birds, relocation destination.

The nature-led garden is inspired by movement, rhythm and the quiet beauty of British birdlife, designed in a collaboration between Tom Saunders, Jon Pilling and Dr Amie Wheeldon.

Sponsored by Pictorial Meadows, British Trust of Ornithology, Protect the Andes, and Arthur Burns and Sons Stone Merchants, the garden will be carefully deconstructed and relocated to James Hopkins Trust in Gloucester.

“While the garden will undoubtedly inspire visitors at Malvern,” explains chairman of Greenfingers, Boyd Douglas-Davies, “its true purpose begins afterwards, as it is rebuilt at the James Hopkins Trust in Gloucester to provide a place of comfort, reflection and connection for the children and families supported there.” He adds:

“‘Lifted by Birds’ perfectly captures what Greenfingers is here to do. It’s not just about creating beautiful gardens; it’s about ensuring those spaces go on to make a real difference.”

To date, Greenfingers has created more than 70 hospice gardens across the UK, and alongside this project, the gardens reflect the charity’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and legacy within horticulture.

Malvern Spring Festival takes place from Thursday 7 May – Sunday 10 May 2026.
