(Des Moines, IA) — The annual Spring Garden Market gets underway Thursday at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden.
The event will feature hundred of plant varieties specifically selected by the Garden’s horticulturists to thrive in central Iowa Gardens. New for this year’s market is the “Dome Grown Collection,” a selection of plants grown on-site by the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden’s horticulture team.
Kim Perez, President and CEO of the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, tells WHO Radio News, “the plants that are represented in the ‘Dome Grown’ collection are those that are very own horticulturists here on our team have selected because they are hearty in our central Iowa climate.”
The schedule for this year’s market includes:
Thursday, May 7th: Preview Evening from 5:30pm-8:30pm
Friday, May 8th: 8am-5pm with member-only shopping from 8am-10am
Saturday, May 9th: 9am-4pm
Sunday, May 10th: 9am-3pm
