Someone very special to me grew these when I was a child, then we found out how toxic they are š perhaps in my front yard. 40 years later though, zone 9b is so hot and dry

Theyāre lovely! I will, however, forever resent whoever planted them in my yard. There are random sprouts of it throughout my front yard. It was clearly planted in the backyard. š
Edit: Can someone explain why Iām being downvoted? You can easily google this. Itās one of the reasons most gardening stores donāt sell these.

If it’s considered invasive, why do suppliers still sell it.

Had no idea these were invasive! Theyāre pretty short lived though, like tulips or daffodils right? So maybe one of the least offensive invasive species?
Whatever you do, if a guy name Walter asks for some do NOT give him any

Those are adorable. They look like the kind of flowers you see in fairy artwork

Since when are Lilly of the Valley invasive? If they like where they are planted, they will thrive. Unfortunately, I haven’t been successful getting them to grow in my side yard where I allow a few toxic, but lovely, plants to grow. Mostly, I grow veggies, herbs, and fruit.

they smell SO GOOD
Lily of the valley is [toxic](https://www.webmd.com/first-aid/lily-of-the-valley-poisoning) and can make you very sick. Not sure itās the best idea to have it in a kitchen. Also watch out for pets that might try to nibble on it.

My birth flower
not invasive.
I am well aware of the toxicity of this plant, I do not have any pets nor do I have children. Some of yāall seem to think iām gonna sautĆ© these up and feed them to my family.
These are considered gold in my family.
[Eurasian lily-of-the-valley](https://www.minnesotawildflowers.info/flower/european-lily-of-the-valley) (Convallaria majalis) is invasive in many regions outside of Europe, but [American lily-of-the-valley](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/convallaria-pseudomajalis/) (Convallaria pseudomajalis) is native and looks *extremely * similar, for those who like Lily of the Valley but would prefer a native version for where they live.
