Someone very special to me grew these when I was a child, then we found out how toxic they are šŸ™ perhaps in my front yard. 40 years later though, zone 9b is so hot and dry

They’re lovely! I will, however, forever resent whoever planted them in my yard. There are random sprouts of it throughout my front yard. It was clearly planted in the backyard. šŸ˜‚

Lily of the valley is [toxic](https://www.webmd.com/first-aid/lily-of-the-valley-poisoning) and can make you very sick. Not sure it’s the best idea to have it in a kitchen. Also watch out for pets that might try to nibble on it.

Edit: Can someone explain why I’m being downvoted? You can easily google this. It’s one of the reasons most gardening stores don’t sell these.

Lily of the valley is one of my favorite flowers but someone told me it was bad luck once and I’m very superstitious so now I never let it in my house. šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

If it’s considered invasive, why do suppliers still sell it.

It’s super pretty! They aren’t invasive in my home country and I miss them a lot! but please if you have pets or kids ensure they don’t eat them – super toxic.

I love them too and they don’t seem to spread where I am, maybe too cold. I have a gross amount of star of bethelehem though šŸ™

I always think of Kate Middleton’s wedding bouquet when I see Lily of the Valley!

Had no idea these were invasive! They’re pretty short lived though, like tulips or daffodils right? So maybe one of the least offensive invasive species?

I am well aware of the toxicity of this plant, I do not have any pets nor do I have children. Some of y’all seem to think i’m gonna sautĆ© these up and feed them to my family.

These are considered gold in my family.

Those are adorable. They look like the kind of flowers you see in fairy artwork

Since when are Lilly of the Valley invasive? If they like where they are planted, they will thrive. Unfortunately, I haven’t been successful getting them to grow in my side yard where I allow a few toxic, but lovely, plants to grow. Mostly, I grow veggies, herbs, and fruit.

That’s like an $80 bouquet there. Good job!
