It’s my first time growing these weird little creatures… I bought one at Home Depot for a dollar back in December… I have been occasionally watering it… But just noticed this going on…
Its splitting and requires zero water while this is happening.

Hopefully these are not living in the same pot as something that needs regular watering, if so, you’ll either rot your lithops or dehydrate the other

Lithops require very specific soil. To keep yours alive you need to research how to care for them as it is critical.

To add to the rest of the good advice you’ve already received, your lithops needs to be potted by themselves as they require **much** less water than the other plant they are potted with. You can grow these guys in pretty much 10% succulent medium with 90% pumice or perlite added. The medium you have it in his way too organic for lithops to thrive.
